Additional Domain Names
(Domain Pointers)
As a BroadSpire customer, you can have additional domain names point to your existing Web site account. For example, if you have an on-line clothing store you may wish to have the domain names clothes.com, shirts.com, and jeans.com all point to your account. This is an excellent way to increase your visibility and bring more visitors to your site!
- Each additional domain name for your account costs only $25 as a one time setup fee.
- Additional domain names point to the root level of your account just like your original domain name does. If you would like additional domain names to point to a subdirectory of your account, please contact support for more information.
- We can either register a new domain name or transfer an existing domain name.
- Additional domain names will not have their own IP address; they merely point to the address of your existing hosting account.
- All e-mail addressed to your additional domain name automatically gets forwarded to your default e-mail address for your existing account. You have the option of having this e-mail forward to a specific e-mail address of your choice instead of your default address. Instructions for doing this are available in our on-line support.
- There are no separate usage statistics generated for additional domains. Since additional domain names merely point to your account (just as your original domain name does), statistics are only generated for accesses to your account; there is no distinction made as to which domain name people used to get to your account.

- BroadSpire will charge you a one-time $25 setup fee.
- Domain registration fees are billed separately.
- If you are requesting a non-U.S. domain name that BroadSpire does not currently register you will be required to register the domain name with the local domain registrar.
- Please note that the information we use to register your domain name will be taken from the information which we have on file for the account your are adding the pointer to. You can provide alternate information that you want listed with the domain registry by emailing us your request. If you are transferring a domain name from another provider, then you need to make sure the company name at the WHOIS is the same as the information we have on file.
- Additional domains are not new accounts, they are merely pointers to an existing BroadSpire web site rental account. Domain Pointers will not have their own IP address.
